Orders and delivery
How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?
We roast on Tuesday and Thursday and post the same afternoon by Royal Mail Tracked 48, so most bags arrive one or two days after roasting. The roast date is printed on every bag.
How much does delivery cost?
Subscriptions ship free anywhere in the UK. One-off orders ship free over £30; under that, delivery is £3.95. We ship to the EU from £6.50 per parcel.
Should I buy whole bean or ground?
Whole bean keeps its flavour two to three times longer, so buy it if you have a grinder. If not, choose your brewer and we grind for it on the morning it ships.
Will it fit through my letterbox?
A 250 g bag, and two of them together, fit a standard UK letterbox. 1 kg bags and larger orders come as a small parcel that needs a signature-free safe place.
What if I don’t like a coffee?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we send a different coffee free on the next roast day. You don’t need to send anything back.
Can I visit the roastery?
Yes — the café at the front of the arch is open six days a week, and you can watch the drum through the glass on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Open cuppings run on the first Saturday of every month.
Do you sell gift subscriptions?
Yes. Choose three, six or twelve deliveries and a start date, and we send a printed card to you or to them. Ask through the contact form and we will set it up.

Can I say no to a coffee?
Yes. Tell us what you don’t like — dark roasts, naturals, anything — and we leave it out of your rotation.
Do I get told what’s coming?
You get an email on roast day with the coffee, the tasting notes and a recipe for your brewer.
What happens when my coffee sells out?
Every coffee is seasonal. We email two weeks before it runs out and suggest the closest match; you can accept it or pick another.
Can I switch coffee later?
Any time before the cut-off, noon the day before roasting. Reply to any delivery email.
Is there a minimum term?
No. Skip, pause or cancel from any email, as often as you like.
How much coffee does an office need?
Roughly 1 kg a week for every ten people who drink two cups a day.
Can you supply a machine?
We don’t lease machines, but we recommend, install and service grinders for office clients at cost.

Do you supply cafés outside Sheffield?
Yes, anywhere in mainland UK. Deliveries go out on roast days by next-day courier.
Can you roast a blend just for us?
From 40 kg a month we will develop a house blend with you over two or three cupping sessions, at no extra cost.
Not sure which coffee to start with?
Tell us how you brew and what you usually drink. We’ll suggest one and send a recipe with it.
