Twelve kilos
at a time, for
eleven cafés.

We are a two-person roastery with one twelve-kilo drum, which sets a hard ceiling on how much coffee exists in a week and decides most of what follows. Prices are printed below rather than quoted, and the smallest account we take is four kilos.

Twelve kilos into moving air, four minutes to cool, and then straight onto the scales. A café ordering thirty kilos a week is ordering two and a half of these, on named days.

What an account gets

Eleven cafés, two offices, one hotel · from 4 kg a week

Roasted the day it leaves

Nothing is roasted to stock. Your kilos go on the Tuesday or Thursday batch and leave the next morning, with the sheet number and roast date on every bag so you can put a bad shot next to a real record.

1 kg and 2.5 kg valve bags

One-way valve, foil-lined, resealable. Over 25 kg a week we switch you to 2.5 kg bags — fewer openings, less packaging, and a hopper filled twice a day rather than five times.

Dialled in on your machine

We come out once before the first delivery and set it up on your grinder with your water, and again six weeks later when the novelty has worn off and the real questions have arrived. Both visits are included.

A recipe card for the bar

Printed, laminated, with the numbers from that visit: dose, yield, time, temperature, and what to change first when the shot runs long. It gets reissued whenever we change the lot on your account.

Water, tested

We will test your supply on the first visit and tell you what it is doing to the coffee. Nine times in ten a café that cannot get a clean cup has a water problem rather than a coffee problem, and filters are cheaper than changing roaster.

Two hours at the roastery

Up to four of your staff, on a Wednesday morning, standing at the drum and then at the cupping table. Free on accounts over 10 kg a week, £90 otherwise, and worth more than either number.

And what we do not do

  • Equipment loans. A machine on loan is a tie-in with a friendlier name.
  • Exclusivity clauses or minimum terms. Give us a fortnight’s notice and stop.
  • A house blend with your name on it that we would not put ours on.
  • Pre-ground. If your grinder is the problem, we would rather help you fix it.

What it costs

Per kilogram · excluding VAT · held for a full quarter

  • Weekly volume4 – 9 kg a week Per kg£34.00 Bag1 kg AlsoWhere most cafés start. One lot on the machine, one on filter.

  • Weekly volume25 – 49 kg a week Per kg£29.00 Bag1 kg or 2.5 kg AlsoOwn-account cupping every quarter, at the roastery or at yours.
  • Weekly volume50 kg a week and up Per kg£26.50 Bag2.5 kg AlsoGreen booked against your name at harvest, held in our store.

One price for every lot on the list — we do not charge more for the Kenyan than for the Brazilian, because you should choose what to pour on how it tastes and not on what it costs us. Prices hold for a quarter and any change comes with a month's notice in writing. Decaf, when we have one, is £2.00 a kilo above your rung.

The week

Two roast days · two vans · nothing roasted to stock

  1. Monday by 17:00 Cut-off for Wednesday. Change the lot, the quantity or the day from the standing order email that lands that morning.
  2. Tuesday 07:00 – 13:00 Roast day. Your kilos go on a batch with your account on the sheet, and cool for four minutes before they are weighed off.
  3. Wednesday 06:30 – 11:00 Our van, anywhere inside twenty-five miles. Further out it goes tracked next-day, dispatched the same morning.
  4. Wednesday by 17:00 Cut-off for Friday. Also the two-hour training slot at the roastery, if you have booked one.
  5. Thursday 07:00 – 13:00 The second roast day, and the bigger one. Six lots on the sheet, yours among them.
  6. Friday 06:30 – 11:00 Second delivery. Collections from the roastery run 08:00 to 16:00 the same day if you would rather come to us.

Run out mid-week and we will get a bag to you — call the roastery rather than emailing, and if there is coffee in the cooling tray you will have it that afternoon. It has happened often enough to be worth printing.

Send four lines
and we’ll send
four bags.

Every account here started with a sample box: four 250 g bags off the current list, posted free, with the sheet numbers on them. No call booked, no deck, no follow-up sequence — if it is any good you will write back, and if it is not we would rather know.

Weekdays 08:00–16:00, and it is a roastery, so if nobody picks up the drum is running. Replies inside two working days.

What to put in the email

  • What you pour now, and what is wrong with it.
  • Roughly how many kilos a week, and how that splits between espresso and filter.
  • Machine and grinder, make and model. Both matter, the grinder more.
  • When you would want the first delivery.

Not ready for an account? The same coffee, in 250 g bags, on the same roast days.
